SYNOPSIS: Alien Records is the brain child of the infamous spin doctor D.J.. "Herb" from Austin, Texas. In 1997, this eclectic musical maestro decided it was time to take his infinite passion for electronic music to the next level. Alien Records had officially landed! Herb signaled Mindcandy Studios to help him create a brand identity that would capture the energy of the club scene that exploded in Austin in the 1990's. We ascended with an "out of this world" logotype and a color palette abducted from our famously evasive friends—the "little green men." The tagline "audio abduction" captures the essence of how one feels after a night of listening to Herb's spaced-out, symphonic serenades. The brand identity Mindcandy Studios created for Alien Records embodies the cyclical rhythmic energy of the music one might expect to hear from the creatures in our neighboring, "not-so-distant" galaxies.

RESULTS: Alien Records landed in Austin in 1997 and now celebrates its 7th year in business! Alien has heavily influenced the Austin electronic music scene by serving D.J.'s with the most diverse sampling of serendipitous sounds on the planet. Alien Records is known to D.J.'s from around the universe for its rare collection of electronic music from this solar system and beyond!
